David Fernandes migrated to Melbourne, Australia under the Family Reunion Scheme in 1984, leaving behind his responsibilities as General Manager in Finco Group of Companies, he joined Gibson Chemicals Ltd, where he was promoted as its Export Development Manager in 1987.

In 1987 Calvary Worship Centre was established by David and Elizabeth to fulfil God’s call upon their lives and ministry. Pastor David continued to work and support the ministry for the next two years until he was invited to join CWC as its fulltime Pastor (In October 1989). He graduated from Harvest Bible College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies in 2005.
